For this case study, we’ll be taking a closer look at our recent collaboration with Muir Housing at Smithy Court, Cheshire, a place which offers communal living for senior residents.
Barons is proud to have worked alongside Susie Tucker of Design Fix, and in consultation with The Muir Group. Our goal was to supply high-quality, contract-grade furniture that complemented the new design scheme whilst also aligning with Muir’s brand identity. The result was a welcoming, multi-functional setting that residents can now enjoy daily.

Project Details
For the Smithy Court project, we supplied furniture that brought a feeling of luxury and warmth to the communal living area, including:
- Lola Dining Chairs in ILIV Burghley Plum.
- Bordeaux Circular Coffee Tables
- Bexley High Back Chairs with Wings in ILIV Elutor Canvas and Aqua Cord Olive.
- Hayden and Utah tub chairs in ILIV Melrose Donoch Aubergine and ILIV Harris Heather.
We also supplied all the curtains, which were carefully coordinated to enhance the overall interior palette and tie the room together.
Each item was manufactured to exceptionally high standards, ensuring longevity in a demanding environment whilst also maintaining a luxurious, homely look and feel. The use of rich plum and soft sage tones helped reflect the Muir branding and create a calming atmosphere for the residents to enjoy. Completion & Feedback
Our team ensured the installation was completed efficiently, professionally, and within the project timeline. From delivery to setup, we worked closely with both the design team and the Muir Housing staff to ensure minimal disruption and a smooth transition into the new space.
The high-back and winged chairs provide a comfortable and secure seating option for residents who require additional support. The dining chairs offer a perfect balance between elegance and practicality, making daily mealtimes feel more inviting. The tub chairs and coffee tables create cosy, sociable zones that encourage interaction and relaxation.
This project is just one demonstration of Barons’ commitment to quality, thoughtful design, and outstanding service. We’re happy to have contributed to a space that promotes comfort, dignity, and community for the people who live there.
