For this case study, we’re going to take a look at our recent collaboration with Springwood Court, a retirement housing complex located in New Romney, Kent.
Barons is very proud to have been chosen as Springwood Court’s furniture provider, helping to transform their outdated lounge area into a living space that is elegant and luxurious. With our variety of furniture styles, fabrics, and colour schemes, we were able to create an environment that residents will be able to enjoy for many years.
Springwood Court in New Romney faced a significant aesthetic and functional issue and needed a refurbishment. The lounge area had gradually become outdated, sporting an old-fashioned look that no longer resonated with resident’s expectations. The project was not just a simple refurbishment but a transformation, introducing ambient lighting, space, and a sense of opulence to give the lounge a hotel feel, all within a competitive budget.
Barons’ Southern Area Sales Manager presented a variety of furniture pieces and fabric shade cards to Springwood Court, offering a preview of potential aesthetics and colours that would harmoniously blend with the existing carpet and paintwork. Our large selection of upholstered furniture allowed us to match the chairs with the blinds that we also supplied, creating a cohesive design.
The furniture pieces supplied to Springwood Court were meticulously handcrafted, adhering to the exceptional standards that Barons is renowned for, bringing a luxurious lounge to life.

We were extremely proud to work with Springwood Court, transforming a once antiquated living space into a lounge area that exudes comfort and style. When we originally visited Springwood Court, the lounge featured rows of identical, high-back wing chairs that lacked an aesthetic appeal. By introducing a variety of seating styles, including tub chairs, armchairs, and dining chairs, we were able to meet the luxury hotel brief. The diverse range of seating options also allows residents to personalise their comfort, leading to a happier living space.
Barons supplied a delightful array of Camden Mid Back and Tub Chairs, alongside Emma Dining Chairs, upholstered in Agua Sark Teal, with selective embellishment using Iliv Annika Peacock for specific chair backs and eyelet curtains. The choice of upholstery not only improved the lounge’s look but also created a harmonious visual flow, enhancing the sense of space and light.
Residents and the manager, despite initial reservations, expressed their delight at the lounge’s transformation post-implementation, commenting that the lounge was much brighter and more spacious than before and did have a luxurious hotel feel.
