Finch House
Barons is proud to be an approved supplier to FirstPort’s senior living schemes and to be able to collaborate on outstanding projects like the Finch House scheme in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
Finch House has been beautifully restored to create a welcoming and relaxed environment. The 19th-century Grade II-listed building is architecturally stunning and steeped in history, with period-appropriate décor throughout and a jaw-dropping mezzanine lounge with a cascading light feature at the heart of a supportive and vibrant community.

Project Details
By utilising a variety of furniture styles, fabrics, and colours, we were able to provide furnishings that worked perfectly with the décor, enhancing the architectural features and helping to create a style reminiscent of an English country manor. The overall result provides bright, airy spaces where residents can catch up with friends or simply take some time to relax and enjoy the ambiance.
The completion of Finch House marks the final phase of the redevelopment of the wider Old Manor Hospital site into exquisite community living environments exclusively for those over 55.
FirstPort oversees Finch House as part of a six-scheme partnership with innovative retirement living provider Platinum Skies, part of AHH (Affordable Housing & Healthcare Group). The group provides vibrant and fulfilling environments for resident communities across Dorset, Wiltshire, and Somerset.
Finch House offers the perfect blend of period features and modern comforts, with stunning and unique design features to create efficient and beautiful homes that Barons are proud to be associated with. Finch House represents the pinnacle of community housing, an ambitious restoration project whose décor and furnishing were created to match the original Italianate grandeur.
It was essential that the selected furniture and fabrics resonated with the vision of Platinum Skies/AHH and exceeded the expectations of potential residents. The furnishings needed to complement the ambient lighting, space, and décor and capture the sense of opulence the architecture and approach to the building convey.
Barons’ South West and South East Business Development Manager, Lawrence Easley, presented a variety of furniture pieces and fabric shade cards to Samantha Tong, the Interior Designer at AHH, offering a preview of potential aesthetics and colours that would work with the décor and her vision of the finished project. This process gave Samantha confidence in her choices, and the spectacular results are a testament to the vision and collegial creative partnership.
“It was important to the Platinum Skies team that we included furniture suitable for the senior living community while also ensuring a sense of style and comfort at Finch House. Barons Furniture played a pivotal role in achieving this vision. They offered stylish furniture that allowed me to select fabrics and create custom designs to suit the interior scheme I had in mind for Finch House. The feedback from the operations team and residents has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are delighted with the quality. Barons Furniture's commitment to excellence has truly enhanced the living experience at Finch House.”
