For this case study, we’re going to be taking a closer look at the contract furniture Barons supplied to Phoenix Futures.
This year marks the 5th year of working with Phoenix, a charity and housing association. They first got in contact with us for furniture in 2018, and we’ve established a fantastic relationship since then, providing them with the products they need, when they need them.
Phoenix Futures helps people with drug and alcohol problems recover from their addiction. The Phoenix team is passionate, optimistic, loving and caring – the perfect mix of characteristics needed to motivate people in recovery to overcome their problems.
We’re extremely proud to have worked with a charity which has the principles and beliefs of Phoenix. Supplying contract furniture to create the most comfortable environments for those that need that comfort the most when dealing with an uncomfortable, but rewarding, situation such as recovery.
We started our ongoing relationship with Phoenix in December 2018, delivering the high-quality contract furniture they ordered within two weeks to ensure they received it before Christmas. Since then, we’ve taken on many projects for them, including:
Contract furniture for a new build, Saltcoats – Phoenix got in contact with us to help them furnish one of their new builds located in Glasgow, we met their delivery deadline date and followed their specific requirements. Saltcoats consists of 31 large modern ensuite single rooms, so we were happy to be able to help furnish such a big project. Residents stay for around 3-6 months, supported by therapeutic workers, other staff members, and even other senior residents as ‘buddies’. Saltcoats provide a friendly and welcoming environment for recovery.
Helping furnish the New Oakwood Lodge in Derby – a gorgeous, large Georgian house located in Derby where residents can stay and receive personalised support from experts. The lodge is staffed 24/7 and puts a big focus on individual psychological treatment such as cognitive behavioural therapy to support residents with mental health issues. Phoenix ordered beautiful contract furniture which we delivered on-time and they were delighted with the overall results with the furniture matching the impressive Georgian House.
Barons continue to support Phoenix and we were able to deliver some of our popular Lancaster Chairs within the same week to help them with an urgent requirement.
Since the beginning of 2020, we’ve helped furnish almost 20 of their recovery houses and Barons have worked with the Phoenix team during COVID. We made sure to meet all of their requirements when it came to COVID-safe deliveries, such as wearing PPE, sanitising regularly, and regular temperature checks. Our fantastic team made orders and deliveries easy for Phoenix even through the global pandemic.
Karen Biggs, Chief Executive at Pheonix Futures
We were extremely proud to work with the Phoenix team in creating beautiful interiors, our focus was on providing the utmost comfort to their residents. Our goal was for our contract furniture to provide that relaxing, homely feel, making sure residents had safe and comfortable environments to unwind and combat their addictions. Here’s what Karen Biggs, Chief Executive for Phoenix Futures, had to say about why comfortable environments are so important for them and how Barons’ furniture helped create them:
“Our Residential Rehab settings can often be the first comfortable safe and welcoming spaces that Community Members have ever lived in. The physical settings and resources of our residentials can convey important psychological messages to its Community Members, a space that is well maintained and inviting says “we value you and we expect that you value yourself too”.
Throughout our 5-year history of working with Barons, they have provided us with high-quality furniture that has helped us create safe and welcoming spaces for the people that we support. The fantastic team at Barons have always gone above and beyond to meet our needs and our deadlines. They come highly recommended.”
