At Barons, we believe that strong partnerships can create meaningful, lasting impact, not only for businesses but also for the wider community. That’s why we’re proud to continue building our relationship with One Fylde through a new recycling initiative that supports both our environmental goals and our commitment to social responsibility. As part of this ongoing partnership, One Fylde’s recycling team will now collect cardboard and soft plastics from our facility every two weeks. The materials will then be repurposed and recycled, helping us reduce waste whilst supporting valuable employment and development opportunities for the individuals One Fylde works with.

Supporting Our ESG Commitments

This initiative directly supports several key areas of our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) policy, particularly our commitments around waste reduction, circularity, and community investment. At Barons, we are actively working towards recycling at least 50% of our total waste by 2027 whilst continuing to explore more circular approaches across the business. Partnering with One Fylde allows us to take another important step towards these goals by ensuring more of our waste materials are responsibly managed and kept out of landfill. By recycling cardboard and soft plastics through a local organisation, we’re also reducing the environmental impact associated with waste disposal and supporting a more sustainable approach to daily operations.

Creating Meaningful Community Opportunities

Beyond the environmental benefits, this partnership also reflects the social side of our ESG strategy. One Fylde supports adults and young people with learning disabilities and autism, helping them gain valuable life experiences, confidence, and employment opportunities within the community. Their recycling programme provides meaningful work that allows individuals to develop practical skills whilst making a real contribution to local businesses and organisations. Supporting initiatives like this is incredibly important to us, as we believe businesses have a responsibility to invest in their communities and help create opportunities that make a genuine difference to people’s lives.

Our relationship with One Fylde began through the donation of over 100 items of furniture and has continued to grow through shared values of care, sustainability, and community support. This latest initiative is another example of how local organisations can work together to create positive outcomes for both people and the environment. As a manufacturer, we’re always looking for ways to operate more responsibly, whether that’s through sustainable sourcing, eco-conscious design, reducing our carbon footprint, or improving how we manage waste.
