We are excited to announce our ongoing collaboration with Sunbury Design as they prepare to launch their new fabric range, Barnard, this September. As a trusted supplier in the world of commercial interiors, Sunbury Design has consistently delivered fabrics that combine durability with design, making them a go-to source for many in the contract furnishing industry.
A New Addition to Sunbury Design’s Repertoire
Sunbury Design's Barnard fabric range is the latest addition to their extensive portfolio, which has been developed with over 60 years of experience in mind. Known for producing fabrics that meet the rigorous demands of commercial use, Sunbury Design has once again created a collection that balances practicality with visual appeal. The Barnard range promises to uphold the standards of quality and serviceability that have made Sunbury Design a respected name in the industry.
Introducing the Future of Sustainable Upholstery
The Barnard collection marks a significant step forward in sustainable fabric design. This range is the first to feature Sunbury Design’s new EcoPerform+ specification. These advanced, environmentally friendly fabrics are designed to meet the needs of senior living, healthcare, contract, and hospitality sectors, where durable, waterproof, and high-performing seating is essential.
EcoPerform+: A Sustainable Solution
EcoPerform+ fabrics are an exceptional addition to the market, offering a variety of benefits that align with growing environmental concerns and the need for sustainable solutions in the upholstery industry. Key features of the Barnard collection include:
- Recycled Fibres: the fabrics are woven using GRS certified recycled fibres, offering a naturally tough and durable material with a soft, warm feel. By utilising post-consumer plastic waste, these fabrics help reduce landfill and energy consumption compared to the production of virgin fibres.
- Halogen and PFC Free: the collection is free from halogens and PFCs, making it easy to clean and resistant to water and dust without using fluorocarbons, which are known to contribute to environmental contamination.
- Infection Control: suitable for environments requiring stringent infection control, the fabric’s anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties offer permanent, non-leaching technology that inhibits the growth of viruses, fungi, and bacteria.
- Hypoallergenic: a fresh, skin-friendly finish helps reduce bad smells and ensures a hypoallergenic experience for users.
- Impervious Barrier: the fabrics include a breathable liquid barrier that protects upholstery fillings from liquids, cleaners, and other contaminants, ensuring long-lasting protection.
- Durability: exceeding the requirements for severe contract upholstery use, these fabrics are hard-wearing and long-lasting.
- Compliance: the Barnard collection is OEKO TEX Standard 100 and REACH compliant, containing no harmful substances and being free of solvents, VOCs, PFOS, PFOA, formaldehyde, heavy metals, and phthalates.
Our Role in the Launch
In support of Sunbury Design’s launch, we at Barons are proud to be upholstering a selection of furniture pieces using the Barnard fabric. These pieces will be showcased in Sunbury Design's upcoming marketing campaigns, highlighting the versatility and style of the new range. By providing beautifully upholstered furniture, we aim to demonstrate the full potential of the Barnard fabric, showing how it can be used to create inviting and durable commercial interiors.
Showcasing at HIX LDN
Sunbury Design will also be showcasing the Barnard fabric range at the HIX event in London this November. HIX LDN, Europe’s only hotel design event, is a key platform for introducing the latest trends and ideas in the industry. As part of their exhibition, Sunbury Design will feature Barons chairs upholstered in Barnard fabric on their stand, allowing attendees to experience firsthand the quality and design that the range offers.
With the launch of the Barnard fabric range, Sunbury Design continues to set the bar for sustainable and serviceable commercial fabrics. We are excited to see how this new collection will be received by the market and are pleased to play a part in its introduction.
