The Barons team is delighted to have helped furnish Lilycross Care Home. Located in Widnes, Cheshire, the facility is being readied for use as a “step-down facility” to help ease the pressure on hospitals treating patients with COVID-19.

Lilycross Care Home was rushed to completion and the facility urgently required furniture and soft furnishings to get it ready for residents to use. Here at Barons, we have have continued to work hard to fulfil customer requirements even during this challenging time. That’s why we were pleased to supply and deliver furniture to Lilycross at short notice and with minimal lead times.

As part of the refurbishment process, we supplied Lilycross Care Home with furniture from our Buxton range. Our Buxton range is modern and stylish, and also available with a lead time of only 10 days as part of our express collection ranges on selected items.

In addition to furnishings the bedroom areas, Barons also provided an array of upholstered furniture, including our Rimini Dining Chairs, Cambridge 2-Seater Sofas and Camden Tub Chairs. With our assistance, the care home’s new residents are sure to be able to recover in comfort and with a high level of hygiene.

The current climate has reaffirmed hygiene as a consideration of paramount importance in any care setting. To help ensure the safety of staff and residents, the Barons products supplied to Lilycross feature both inherently antibacterial wood finishes and fabric. Barons’ friendly delivery team was also pleased to provide our room placement service, assisting with readying the home for imminent use. By observing strict hygiene protocols and social distancing, we are prioritising the welfare of both staff and customers. Barons can also meet special delivery requirements, including deliveries to communal areas, minimising close contact with potentially vulnerable residents.

We were delighted to have the opportunity to support this important project. With Barons’ help and the hard work by the Eric Wright Construction team, Lilycross Care Home was delivered on schedule by mid-May. This exciting new scheme will be instrumental in alleviating pressure on local NHS hospitals and healthcare networks.

Using the facility, patients recovering from COVID-19 and other life-threatening illnesses will be able to recuperate in a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. In addition, Halton Council expects Lilycross to provide a “crucial extra resource” to support the new Nightingale Hospital located at the Manchester Central conference centre.
