We've taken every step to ensure that our upholstered furniture is as safe as possible. We use top-quality fire-retardant fabrics that are designed to resist flames and slow down their spread. All our upholstery fabrics meet Performance Standard BS7176 – medium hazard tested to; Cigarette (EN1021-1) and Match ignition (EN1021-2) with the addition of Crib 5 (BS5852: 2006). Including soft furnishings fabrics which have been thoroughly tested to make sure they meet all of the necessary fire safety standards - we supply a huge range of both inherently flame retardant (up to BS5867 Part 2 type B and C) and treated fabric ranges (BS5867 Pt 2 type B). All of which are ideally suited for use in healthcare environments along with hotels and other public buildings.
An important thing to note is that domestic furniture doesn’t have to follow all the same guidelines as contract furniture when it comes to fire safety.
