Do you have a Showroom?
We know how busy you are and understand that having to come off site to view furniture can be a problem and very inconvenient for you. We therefore offer the service of Display Vans which tour the country which enable you to take a closer look at our furniture at a time and a place which is convenient to you Why not ask us to make an appointment for one to call so that we can discuss your requirements and show you samples of our furniture and fabrics in situ? There is no cost, no obligation and, of course, absolutely no pressure. Our ranges can, of course, be seen in our current catalogue click here to download, or we would be happy to send one to you by post.
I am unsure what to order, can you help?
Our friendly Sales Team are always on hand to discuss your requirements and those of your clients. We are able to offer expert advice on all our products and fabrics to ensure that you are completely satisfied with the end result.
How do I know what fabrics you have to offer?
Your chairs can be upholstered in an extensive range of attractive, practical, upholstery fabrics all of which are Fire Retardant to Ignition Source 5, ensuring compliance with the current Fire Regulations for upholstered items within Care Homes. Fire Certificates can be provided for any of the fabrics we supply.

To ensure total compliance with regulations and to ensure that our fabrics perform well within the care environment we only deal with reputable fabric manufacturers. Once we know your requirements we can send you out a selection of swatch cards which will be suitable for your needs. If you would find it helpful to see a larger piece of certain fabrics we would be happy to arrange this.
What wood shades are available?
Upholstered items are available in 5 standard wood shades – although we can spray to match your required shade if required. Our bedroom ranges also come in a selection of different shades – these can all be viewed in our brochure or on our website.
How do I place an order with Barons?
Placing an order couldn’t be easier. If you know what you require either phone, email or fax your order through to us. If your order is more complex, or if you would like to view samples first then we can arrange for one of our display vans to call and then you can place your order directly with our representative.
How do I know you have received my order?
Within 48 hours of placing your order you will receive 2 copies of our Sales Order Confirmation. We ask you to check the details very carefully to ensure that we have understood your requirements correctly. We require you to sign and return one copy to us (with your deposit where applicable), retaining the other copy for your records.
Can I add to my order after I have placed it?
You can always add to an order. Depending on the item chosen and its availability within the time-frame we may or may not be able to deliver to you with the original order. If there is not enough time for us to deliver with the original order then we would give you an estimated delivery date for the additional item(s) and if you decide to go ahead we would place these items on a separate order.
When can I expect to receive my order?
As we manufacture to order it usually takes 3 – 5 weeks for us to complete your order. We are aware that you may have urgent furniture requirements from time to time and we are often able to deliver within a very short time-frame when required – do please ask and if we can possibly help we will. Ask about our new Express Delivery service.
Can I specify a day for delivery?
Obviously for very large deliveries eg new home fit-outs we will work to your specific delivery date.

If you have a specific day you wish us to deliver do please state this at time of order so that we can process your order accordingly. In general deliveries are planned for a particular week and we are usually give you a very good idea of which day we plan to deliver to you - we can also contact the driver during the week to give you a more specific day and time of your delivery.
When will I be charged for my goods?
We usually ask for a 20% deposit at time of order, the balance becoming due on delivery. For larger accounts, or when we get to know you better we are very happy to discuss setting up a 30 day account.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept payment by BACS, cheque, bankers draft and are now able to accept payment by all the major credit cards.
Are credit card payments safe?
To ensure that your credit, debit or charge card is not being used without your consent, Barons will validate the name and address which you give us when you place an order against appropriate third party databases. By placing an order with us you consent to such checks being made. In performing these checks personal information provided by you may be disclosed to a registered Credit Reference Agency which may keep a record of that information. You can rest assured that this is done only to confirm your identity, that a credit check is not performed and that your credit rating will not be affected. All information provided by you will be treated securely and strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. If you have questions concerning this policy, please contact us.
Do you charge for delivery?
No, delivery is included to UK Mainland addresses, however, for small orders (under £250) we do have to charge a nominal delivery charge. For deliveries outside the UK please ask – we deliver to Southern Ireland fairly regularly.
How are your deliveries made?
We make all our own deliveries with our own professional, uniformed delivery staff, who are well aware of the sensitive nature of delivering to Care Homes.

We never subcontract our deliveries. We always use our own, well-maintained fleet of delivery vehicles.

For most standard deliveries we provide a 1-man delivery service. Where very large items are involved (eg sideboards) we will ask you prior to delivery if you can arrange for assistance for our driver. If you are unable to provide this we are can offer 2-man deliveries by arrangement (we sometimes need to charge extra for this).
What if I discover my order is incorrect upon delivery?
In the unlikely event of your furniture arriving damaged or incorrect in some way, do call us as soon as this is discovered (ideally whilst our driver is still there) so that we can investigate the problem and discuss the best way forward to resolve the issue promptly and with the minimum of inconvenience to you.
Do you offer an installation service for larger fit-outs?
Yes, we offer a complete installation service. Our Operations Manager will keep in close contact with you to ensure that we deliver exactly when you want us to. We know how hectic it is at the tail end of a large project and we will discuss our delivery plan with you in close detail to ensure that our deliveries dovetail to suit you.

We will send in a team of experienced fit-out staff who will work to a plan to ensure that items are placed exactly where you want them within the home. They will install the items, unpack them and remove all packaging from site. At the end of the fit-out a senior member of Barons staff will do a walk-around check with you to ensure that you are completely satisfied before we leave site.
How do I know the furniture will stand the test of time?
Chair Frames
Many of our chair frames have been tested to BS EN 15373:2007 for Strength and Stability, so you know that they will give you many years of continuous use. Many of our chairs employ mortise and tenon joints for extra strength.

Unlike some of our competitors we only use European furniture grade beech for our frames, this has been kiln-dried to the correct Relative Humidity to ensure that the wood does not continue to dry out in the Care Home environment which can cause loosening of joints, causing the chair to become wobbly and a potential risk to safety.

Fabrics
As mentioned in the section on fabrics above, we only ever use certificated Crib 5 fabrics to ensure compliance with Fire Regulations. Certificates are always available upon request. Similarly we only deal with reputable fabric manufacturers to ensure that the furniture not only looks good, but is easy to keep clean and that it will stay looking good for many years in the Care environment.

Tables
Our table ranges are built with strength and stability in mind. The base frames of our coffee, dining and occasional tables employ mortise and tenon joints. The most popular choice for table tops is laminate, which is extremely hard-wearing, being heat and scratch resistant.

Bedroom Ranges
All our bedroom furniture ranges are built with strength and stability in mind. Our ever popular Abbey and Kensington ranges are not only very attractive but are well constructed having metal drawer runners for increased durability. Our new Hilton range has 15mm solid backs to all the units and 15mm solid drawer bottoms and metal sides to the drawers, this range represents a very superior build strength for a surprisingly competitive price. At the top of the fleet is our Harvard range which has been tested to BS 4875 for Strength and Stability this range comes with a 5 year warranty.

Profiling beds
All our profiling beds carry a 3 year parts and labour warranty.
Is the furniture guaranteed?
All our items are guaranteed against manufacturing defects. At Barons our reputation has been built on the way we look after our customers. As the ethos that underpins everything we do at Barons is to treat our customers as we would wish to be treated ourselves, you can rest assured that if something does go wrong we will do our utmost to put it right to your complete satisfaction. Much of our business is built on repeat orders and we receive many glowing testimonials which go to endorse our excellent reputation for looking after our customers.
How do I care for my upholstery fabrics?
You will be issued with cleaning instructions for the fabric(s) you select. The majority of the fabrics we use are very easy to keep clean. Occasionally accidents do happen with specific staining (eg ballpoint pen) if this should arise we would work closely with the fabric manufacturer to try and resolve the problem for you.
